No need for fasteners, just stack up the wood and it stays in place |
In one of our first apartments (oh so many years ago), my father-in-law made shelving like this for my tiny pantry. It is SO EASY to do and is inexpensive, very durable, and easily removable making it great for renters/tenants! We are doing this in the main linen closet and the game closet.
If you have the plywood cut at the home improvement store, you won't need any tools, fasteners, nails, or glue! Brilliant!
All my pieces are uneven because we are repurposing the wood from a different closet set-up from the previous house. Otherwise, I would have them all nice and even!
Decide how many shelves you want. For each shelf, you'll need two "support legs". You want to put two pieces on the side walls and place the third piece on top (the shelf). The bottom pieces work like support legs when you press them against the walls snuggly. Then stack the next legs on top of that and add another shelf. Build as high as you want, these shouldn't fall over if you press them against the walls tightly.
The hallway is narrow, making it very difficult to get a photo of this closet. There are four shelves (and eight support legs for a total of 12 pieces). The two legs are the same dimensions, but the shelf will most likely be different.
